New and I am seeking advice!

Hi there! I hope I have come to the right place. I am seeking advice for an Epson Stylus Pro 9700 printer. I am having trouble with one of my cartridges not installing so I am unable to finish setting up the computer that I have recently brought used. All but 1 cartridge won't install and I am having to get some orders out soon. I have purchased 2 new cartridges within 2 weeks.

Is this a new printer first time set up or a used printer being set up on a different computer?

Do you use only new OEM cartridges or are any aftermarket pre-filled cartridges? If so, which ones?

Do you refill the cartridges?

Is there any damage to the cartridge or chip?

Is the problem cartridge the correct color cartridge for that slot?

Is the problem cartridge brand new or was it installed before? If used, did it have any issues before re-installing? If new, it is possible the chip may be bad, whether OEM or aftermarket. Consider returning to store and exchange for another. If the problem cartridge is the set up cartridge that comes with the new printer then contact Epson for warranty support.
