Hi Palombian,

It seems like. (no visible locking problems to see however)
Opened the side of the printer.
Disconnected the connectors on the top one by one.
Printer would boot, with different error codes depending on what whas diconnected.

Found 3 cables to the scanner / enconder had slight moisture damage.
(do you remeber I found this printer dumped 3 years ago - I bet it got rained on/sat in the rain)
Cleaned the connector with isopropyl alcohol. Look okay for now.

Let it all dry.

I am now greeted by a 6700 error on bootup.
The closed I can find, that this is a battery error?
And that there is a reset tool for this?
(It does have a battery inside I have seen)

Greetings.

Just a note to myself.

I probably disconnected the flat cable that connected the RTC board to the main board.
I'll try the recovery tool, to correct my error.

Do not unplug the connector labeled BIND on M/B in Maxify w/o pluggin unit in.

That could be the problem, because if the printer was not plugged into the power socket at the time.. But doesn’t need to be powered on...

Hi

,@The Hat
Thx for your reply. Indeed, that's exactly what was happening.
A bit of searching through the forums got me the answer.
(I wonder, one should not use a power strip to turn the Maxify off at night
in order to conserve battery life - since it's such a pain for an end user - bricks the machine)

Update;
Fixed my mistake.

Enter service mode like this video shows (Korean video, it but shows it clearly)
I used tool ST-4905
Click Other -> Operation -> set time
Done.

Printer not fixed, just back to first symptoms/fault (good)
Having that fixed ...

Troubleshooting session #2
I know now it's not the scanner!
The CPU is crashing 15 seonds after startup, and 5 s after chrashing the WDT kicks in and resets the machine.

The poor little scanner moter keeps turning becaus the software has crashed, and it cannot count the pulses
anymore from the encoder wheel (can be seen with a flashlight on the right under the glass plate)

More updates to come later (I hope)

Steven.
