I bought a new duplex laser printer M2625D from Samsung.
I works fine except one thing:

I want to permanently adjust some initial printing properties (under 64bit Win7):
- Set duplexmode = on = flip at the long edge
- print 2 on 1 (print two digital pages on one physical paper)

So I went to the printer properties as you can see in the following snapshots and set
e.g. duplex=long edge

http://www.picfront.org/d/9mdH

then I returned to the calling program (editer, pdf viewer, Word,....) and printed the stuff successfully.

However the next time I want to print again something I have manually to re-adjust all the settings.

This is annoying.

I though if "Last used settings" is the top-most on "Favorites" tab then the last printing properties will be automatically remembered.
Unfortuantely this is not the case.

None-duplex and 1-on-1 is set as initial printing mode

How can I tell the printer spooler to set the properties PERMANENTLY?

Thank you
Peter

Hi @pstein and welcome, the best way to have your printer set to your own personal default is to use the Windows Control Panel.

It must be carried out in Devices and Printers to make them permanent otherwise they’ll always revert back to the factory default settings.

You can still use other setting for a single job in any application but they will always return to your own personal setting after you leave that Application..
