Hello.

I know that typical ultrasonics 40khz kill a print head, no doubt about it.
While EPSON heads are more durable the inkjet heads are not suppose to be cleaner with typical cleaners. Industrial wide format heads are different story. But I have to confirm the frequesncy used.

However the ultrasonics cleaning get more gentle as you increase the frequency, so I found that there are sold so called "facial cleaners", they range from 1Mhz to 3Mhz - power is mere 7W or so.

They cheap 20-30$, mains or battery (or rechargeable) powered.

Power can be adjusted and I wondered if it could be used to easily unclog a head, one would need to do some DIY by attaching some container on top of the transducer (perhaps cutting a hole and using some sealant), or gluing it on top (glue must be very good.)

Well i viewed dozens of items on ebay (because most of the time you can't narrow down the search). This is becuse sellers use google to translate most things and that means you will not find the sellers or you will not find the sellers who sell it and not re-sellers.

However given the topic title I was able to find these devices:

1. Contact lens cleaner claims 150khz frequency

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CD-2900-Ultrasonic-Contact-Lens-Cleaner-2-min-Clean-RED-/231100597756?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35ceab45fcElma Elmasonic One Sonic

2. The most cheap supposedly working device, with unknown frequency as the one specified is not in ultrasonic range ! But the price is a joke so I included it in the list.

3. Professional device called - Digital Ultrasonic Cleaner Elmasonic PH075EL
Take a look at the price, really expensive.

Ultrasonic power adjustable and works at 80Khz range.

It never worked for me also (I have two units 30W and 50W (use heater only on this unit)), but I never tried the 7W, 150khz or something like 80khz cleaners. The 30W is too much for inkjet printheads.

Another nice find

6cm diameter, 4cm depth round metal container 56kHz

A company called Ausjet selling 68Khz cleaner that claims to clean print inkjet heads like HP without problems here
http://www.ausjetinks.com.au/p/Tool...ency-Ultrasonic-Cleaner-2L/30-Ultrasonic68KHz

Here you can see a video of the massager I posted in first link

The cavitation is very limited, so I think it would not be possible to damage anything, but I haven't found any commercial units using Mhz range for cleaning anything, so perhaps it's so low it would not clean?
