Before refilling the Pro-100 cartridges you should be aware, that remnants of the original CLI-42 Y ink can react with the refill ink or even plain water used for flushing the cartridge. The CLI 42 Y cartridge must be completely free from ink remnants before refill or ink remnants can react to form a gel that clogs the print head. Using a CLI-8 cartridge that has been purged and with a CLI-42 Y chip attached is recommended by more Pro-100 users.

Thanks very much for the detailed info. I've checked the Precision Colors web site here in Toronto where I'll be buying my refills, he provides an extra cartridge for the yellow and gives
instructions on how to change the chip and use the chip re setter.
Paper is my next challenge, you can find some good prices online, however, the shipping kills you...
