I am using a CIS with my Epson XP 600, it worked fine for two years but recently the head cleaning utility was not able to fully clear some clogged areas so I proceeded to disassemble the print head to clean it manually.
Now the problem is that the printer does not recognize the cartridges so when you open the scanner the cart moves to the left as it is expected but just before it stops at the cartridges changing area the printer turns itself off. If I turn it on it starts all over again.
I have the service manual and already checked the CR contact module and it sure looks fine.
Anybody with the same problem?

It is not clear how far you went with the disassembly, disconnecting flat cables etc. It could be that a cable - e.g. for a sensor - is not connected correctly - like the sensor at the back of the carriage for the timing strip. There must be a shutdown condition, serious enough for the mainboard logic to power off again.
