Hi all, I have an opportunity to buy a cheaper Canon printer which is the PRO-500 (Asian version), which is the PRO-1000 model in Europe and America. Now here's the problem: the cartridges are expensive! I know Rodriguez is already using the reset chip to get it working, but at the same time have heard that the reset chip sometimes doesn't work properly. Can I ask if the reset chip used in the PRO-1000 cartridge can also be used in the PRO-500 (both look exactly similar in parameters, but the cartridge model number pro-500 is pfi-50 and pro-1000 is pfi-1000), and if so where can I buy a chip that will reset correctly. Please provide the purchase URL, thank you very much!

The PRO-1000 is also called PRO-1000 in Europe and uses the same PFI-1000 cartridges.
Also the PRO-10 and PRO-10S are the same (and PRO-10S is a cloud version of the PRO-10 and not the overseas version as Jose Rodriguez (@jtoolman ) suggested).
As far as I know from his videos the PRO-1000 reset chips do not work, only one time chips (at a price almost the difference between 3th party and OEM ink).
Only "cheap" solution is disable ink monitoring. No experience but the advantage of the PRO-1000 is it doesn't do a cleaning cycle after changing carts, so you can top them up without penalty.
