Anyone own one of these printers? I'm looking to get one and and will be ordering some bulk ink for it. I know that photo black is used for photos and not general use but is the grey soley used for B&W & greyscale printing or is it also used in photos & document printing? Don't want to order too much of the grey ink if it is not used much. Also as a matter of interest, does it print out better B&W photos? than the 5 ink carts Canons?

Hiya Wilko,

I myself have the Canon MG8250 and I found the grey cart to go the first . My understanding is all the colors are used weather printing black and white documents or color photos and a lot depends what media your printing on at the time. Obviously photo media brings the photo black and grey into play more where I believe standard plain paper is more the black pigment inks department. I have just ordered a bulk ink kit for the MG8250 from Octoinkjet they use Image specialist inks and come very well recommended.

As for Black and White photos I have only had the printer a couple of months yet so I still have to go there myself but the reviews I have read are very good, color photos on the other-hand are excellent you certainly wont be disappointed there.

Andy :)
