I am running two Canon i860 printers side by side, one of which prints
with a tint. Both were purchased new about three weeks apart. One was
installed before and one after I installed Epson C84 and MP730
printers.

I print using the EXACT same settings, exact document with exact media
and one (the second one installed) will show a tint - Gray looks a tad
greenish in tint. Once again this is regardless of the media I print
on or the cartridges I use, OEM or aftermarket.

I have already uninstalled the second printer and reinstalled it and
this had no effect. All jets when running head tests show clean and the
color adjustments are identical in my settings.

Why when using Canon OEM ink or after market ink does one of the
printers print with a tint where the other does not? Is it possible that the
install of the MP730 or the Epson C84 can have this affect on an
i860?

Any advise you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

I'd start by checking iof the default settings are identical. Then, switch cartridges from one printer to the other and print an identical prinbnt on each printer.. This will at least tell you if it's a cartridge or printhead problem....my guess is cartridges.

Good luck!

You might want to try and swap the print heads between printers and see if the problem follows the print head. If it does it is most likely the way the print head handles the ink flow. If the problem follows the print head then you would have to fix the problem with adjusting the color sliders in the print drivers.

I agree, swapping the printhead will really narrow things down without having to worry about flushing the ink out of the heads.

You also may want to try moving the #1 printer to the #2 cable and the #2 printer to the #1 cable if the printhead swap doesn't show any change. This would narrow the problem down a little further.
