Cannon TM-300 print recovery system (basket)

Does anyone else that has a TM-300 or any Cannon plotter with the ridiculous fabric recovery basket have trouble with the pages just curling up and not stacking correctly? I have looked into getting the flat stack type basket, but cannon tells me that I have to buy a whole new stand for 900.00. Has anyone found a solution to this disaster? I print 80-100 pages at a time and do not have time to baby-sit the printer, or resort the entire pile of pages off of the floor -- FRUSTRATED AS HELL
