Just bought a new 3880 and a set of refillable cartridges, and since I haven't installed the OEM cartridges or turned the printer on yet, I was wondering if I could go ahead and install the refillables and have the printer go through its priming cycle with those instead of the OEM carts.
Has anybody else tried this succesfully? Is there any reason this wouldn't work?

I reckon you’ll have to install your OEM cartridges first for the initial setup and priming stage and only then will you be able to switch over to your new refillables sorry..

Yes I did with my new Epson Pro 3880. I sold the supplied cartridges and it worked without any problems. However: you will need a set of Original Epson Pro 3880 cartridges chips to get these refillables working.
