A iP4300 uses a qy6-0061 printhead. I believe I read a -067 PH is for for a iP5200.
But, I see dozens of listings (not just e-bay) for a 0061 PH for both a iP4300 & a iP5200.

Can qy6-0061 be used in a iP5200? According to a couple of older reviews, the nozzle count is greater in the 67 than the older 61.

QY6-0061 is used in more Canon printers, such as iP4300, iP5200, iP5200R, MP600, MP600R, MP800 and MP830. There might be more models, I don't know which print heads are used in MP810 and MP960.

So QY6-0061 is the proper print head for iP5200. QY6-0067 or its replacement type QY6-0075 is used in iP4500 and MP610 and maybe more models.

QY6-0061 has normal and light nozzle sets for cyan and magenta, QY6-0067/75 has normal, medium and light nozzle sets for cyan and magenta, so I think the old reviews are correct.

Thanks for the input Pete,

From those reviews, there is suppose to be something around 1k more nozzles in the 67 over the 61. Nothing about specific colors. In some of the ads I noticed the test nozzle printouts are different and more complex from the 4300 to the 4500 which came out a year later. I also noticed the refirb'ed 67 PH's are $20 to $25 more overall over the 61.

When I realized the difference, I had my doubts about the compatibility of these. I would figure with the additional nozzles and different test printouts, these wouldn't be ok to swap in spite of the Chinese sellers listing otherwise. ;)

Using a 61 in a 4500, doing a manual nozzle alignment, I wonder how that would impact the procedure and final result? The reason for all of this is, I have a couple of spare 61's and I was thinking about picking up a 4500. I have a good supply of the inl & carts for either that I want to continue to use.

The iP4300 and iP4500 printers are similar, but they don't use the same print head type. Using a QY6-0061 in an iP4500 or a QY6-0067 in an iP4300 won't work.

Don't try installing a wrong print head type. The print head type must match the printer's logic board. If you are lucky you will just get an error message that the print head is a wrong type, if you are unlucky you will ruin the print head and/or the logic board.

I got the 5200 that you mentioned mixed up with the 4500. Thar's why I stated what I did in my last post that something didn't seem right. :(

Too many similar model numbers.
