This is a question that has been asked thousands of times, and also answered, but yet the same wrong answers keeps cropping up in publication again and again by critics of 3rd party inks openly opposed to their use.

But if you read their whole article you can clearly see where their loyalties are coming from and that’s usually the pockets of the big OEM manufactures which is total hogwash and untrue.

Just to put it straight from the horses mouth, 3rd party quality inks won't harm or damage your print head in any way and won't cause you to lose your warrantee either, the Agents have no way of knowing once OEM carts are refitted.

The real damage to a printer is usually caused by not following the printers simple instructions correctly whether you’re using OEM or 3rd party inks or not, taking shortcuts and testing out tricks or trying to do something the printer was never designed to do, alternatively you could try and follow a good maintenance routine which will help enormously.

Lastly another likely cause of damage is not following the many tried and tested techniques there are for refilling and especially not using OEM cartridges whenever possible, its not rocket science so don’t try and make the printer fly.

Canon printers can and will last for years if treated properly so please try and avoid cheap universal inks and CISS units that seem so economical and easy to use, and using this stuff will certainly kill your printer, fact; you are the only one that can cause the early demise of your lovely printer.
