Today I was surprised to find out that when I replaced the yellow cartridge, the LED stayed dark. Poking around, pulling it out, putting in back, etc. fixed the problem, but then the cyan went flaky too. Eventually I got them all working, but I'm wondering if this is just going to get worse and...
I have an MG6120 and when I print some photos on 8.5x11 "everyday gloss" photo paper from the Gimp in Windows 10 using the "high" quality setting (as opposed to "standard" or "fast"), using the rear paper tray, I get banding on parts and always the same parts.
I've tried aligning the print head...
I just pulled my cyan CLI-226 out of my printer, because my printer said it was low. But when I put it in the resetter, nothing happens. How many times can you reset a chip until it's no good anymore? I don't think it was reset as many as a dozen times.
I'm pretty sure my resetter is good. It...
I have a Canon MG6120 which uses 225/226 carts, but having been using 220/221s and refilling German style. I want to replace them all and top fill the new ones, but Precision Colours is out of the gray carts, so I'm wondering what I should be doing w/my current gray ones, and their...
I have a septic tank, btw. I've already put quite a bit of the residue from each refill into it.
If I don't have to worry about the environment or the health of my septic system, I'd just pour the lot down the drain, rinse the bottles in the dishwasher and chuck 'em in the recycling.
I had another thread, but that one seems to have degenerated into confusion, so I thought I'd start another. I just realized that the ink I have is best before 2013 (I don't know which part of the year). What are the dangerous of using it? Right now, the only problem I can see is that the PGBK...
Can someone please help me understand why my printer always prints gray text in Windoze but is able to do black in Linux? I e-mailed Canon support for help, but their answer seems completely non sequitur. So do I need to e-mail them back to straighten them out or could one of you straighten me...
...negative, as in, they don't indicate there's a problem. I printed from and it's like some of the nozzles aren't firing sometimes. Then I printed a nozzle check and if you'll ignore the junk on the B-side of that paper that I couldn't remove from the scan, you'll see it came out...
I just filled a CLI-221Y with 7cc of C221yD, (a la PrecisionColors.com) which I intend as a stand-in for a 226. It's been a couple of hours, but the bottom sponge stayed as white as Michael Jackson (was). I tried tapping it (rather hard), but that didn't make a difference. Then I blew in the air...
Whoa! How did this happen? I looked at all the colour carts and only the magenta tank seems empty (but the chip says the cart is 3/4 full) However, it seems that the cyan is what's missing but there's plenty still in the cyan.
Here's a scan of what's happening:
And here's what it should look...
I bought a bunch of 220/221 cartridges to act as 225/226s for my MG6120, and put the 225/226 chips into them and that's worked rather well for me so far. However, I seem be missing one CLI-226BK cartridge and one PGI-255PGBK cartridge. I don't care about the cartridges, but I'm going the need...
I know full well, it went into the empty sponge. So clearly I need to put more ink in than what would be for an almost-saturated sponge.
So I bought a bunch of 220/221 cartridges as transparent alternatives to the 225/226s that go into my MG6120. I was told to fill the tank (the magenta one)...
I'm ready to start filling these transparent PGI-220/CLI-221 substitutes for the opaque PGI-225/CLI-226 that Canon expects me to use for my MG6120, but now I'm confused on the question of amounts. http://www.nifty-stuff.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=52047 recommends that I fill by weight. I've...
I've heard that compatible cartridges are bad, so I'd repost here. I need backup cartridges for my MG6120. I already have the originals, but I'm told I should go for empty OEMs so that I can restart printing right away. Unfortunately, eBay, Amazon and even Google doesn't give me much of a...
Yes, I've already bought the refill kit and resetter, and can't wait to use them, but I've come to the conclusion that I could really snooker myself if I don't have another cartridge at the ready for the unpredictable moments when they run out. So, that means I have to bear another one-time cost...
I was just about to order http://www.inkjetreset.com/Cli-226-Resetter.html when I saw "We Only Ship to addresses in the U.S.A" Where can I get something that ships to Canada?
Not that they say that, exactly. What the manual says is:
In another part of the manual it says:
Unfortunately, this new printer has 6 tanks and some of them are already half way down! (Crikey!) I figure it must be well over 100$ to replace them all. What kind of trouble am I looking at by...
Previously, as an experiment, it was recommended that I cleanout my 3eBK cartridge and refill it with 6BK. I was told that if I was to refill it with the 3eBK I would have to clean it out first. Why is that? What's the danger of not cleaning it out first? Is it a matter of longevity, because...
It seems that the only one that ever clogs is 3eBK and it does it a lot, and sometimes cleaning makes it worse! I've got a Canon i860, and I've refilled some of the OEM cartridges, but not the 3eBK one yet. However, that cartridge is very old. My best guess is that that the 3eBK ink has these...
Ok, something's in a big mess here. The other day I was here bragging that I'd some new data about cross contamination, (a quick recap: I have a Canon i860 and I cleaned out a thoroughly contaminated yellow cartridge and refilled it using the German method. My cartridges are all OEM and the only...
