    Possible upgrade from Canon IP6000D

The newest of my Canon printers, the IP6000D, that takes the BCI-6 ink cartridges is giving me trouble; so thinking about what next. I am a long time refiller but have not done any with the chips. Need to be off to do some other shopping. Anyone have any suggestions even before I get into...

New weapon of Canon: new carts to replace CLI-221/521 and PGI-220/520

I notice you are in the US and I though none of the US Canon printers did cd/dvd printing! Has this 620 been modified?

    Instructions

With some instruction manuals it is the result of very poor translation from one language to another.

    Draining a Canon cartridge

Rather than use newspaper or such I literally inherited a foil oven liner (intended to catch drips in the oven of a kitchen stove) which I use to catch ink drips, etc. when refilling. When done any that got on it easily rinses off.

Problem with Canon ip6000D black not printing

Yes, I should have said I was not surprised to find a PM or M missing after the green print. This morning the bubbles in the PM were down and I found nothing that looked out of place on the bottom of the head (nozzles). I did a nozzle check that came out fine. So I took a chance and ran the...

Problem with Canon ip6000D black not printing

What Next!!! I did a search for more cleaning information (which was not as fruitful as I hoped most search engines dont seem to expect thing phrased the way that is natural for me). By going through the steps described at post #4 in the thread here...

Problem with Canon ip6000D black not printing

bbbbb Sorry I wasnt clear enough about nozzle check pattern. I am posting a scan that I hope comes through clear enough. The odd colors are in what I guess you would call titles at the start of each color bar. Then the only thing off in the bars is the missing bars for the cyan. In...

Problem with Canon ip6000D black not printing

I did use your cleaning process and it was after that seemed to be helping that I got the new cartridge. Once again a qoute from my post just previous to this one: "Going to it seemed to finish solving my problems as I got a good nozzle check and printed a number of pages that were mainly...

Problem with Canon ip6000D black not printing

After things seemed to be improving I decided to get a new black cart. on Sunday, May 18. Going to it seemed to finish solving my problems as I got a good nozzle check and printed a number of pages that were mainly text. I was ready to post my thanks but before I got to it. . . Then . . ...

Thanks for the replies. It is a relief to know I am not contending with a case of burned out nozzles. Now to double check some things before I start doing. Want to make sure you understand I am located in the US. What I have on hand in the way a cartridges for possible use in the black...

Problem with Canon ip6000D black not printing

I had a feeling that it had been long enough since I have posted any images here that I woud struggle with relearning it. That was the case but as I start this post I have gotten one up and hope to do two more. This was the reason they were not in my first post as I needed to go on to...

Problem with Canon ip6000D black not printing

This Canon printer uses 6 of the BCI-6 carts. I was having a great experience with this printer for just over a year until I tried to do a very large print job of black text (duplex printing on 8.5" x 11" sheets) for our church newsletter (it takes 125 sets). I made the attempt to do this at...

Sealing the refill hole BCI-6 BCI-3

I went through a similar series of things with pulling the Canon ball and reinserting as Lilla did except for the rust which I didn't get from the BRASS eye-screws I was using. I did have an additional problem of it sticking up to far from the top of the cart with the latest printer I have as...

New technique to clean BCI-6 carts

I have been looking for a long thread that I remember about sealing the refill hole on Canon OEM BCI-6 carts and can't find it even after doing a search. But, did run across this drying idea http://www.nifty-stuff.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1404 which looks like something I want to try since I...

    Your opinion please?

What I had in mind was getting something to start "fresh" while the Canon's that came with the printer are still in use (so that I won't have to stop and fill when something runs down while I am printing something I need now). Jane

    Your opinion please?

With my newest printer (S800) being darn close to 5 years old decided to get a iP6000D from a seller on e-bay. It arrived last Tuesday and I feel like I am back to what I was getting from the others when they were new. But, I am still wanting to know what members of this group prefer as a...

Any agreement on what is best source of empty Canon carts?

I said the PM & PC seemed to be problem colors because they are the ones that have usually been the ones to have ink flow, clogging, problems for me. I have also read of that being the case for others.
