Suggestion for oil/grease-resistant paper for fortune cookie messages?

Thank you @stratman , That’s what I’ll try to find next. It sure looks like paper, but a lab analysis will tell me more precisely about it and about coating used, if any. You’re right also about industrial cookies using vegetable oils instead of butter. Considering how good people find our...

Suggestion for oil/grease-resistant paper for fortune cookie messages?

Thanks @The Hat , You are probably right about that incompatibility; not being from the printing industry, I had to try. Hot lamination will be added to the list of things to try, if it can be done with a bio plastic that is both food safe and biodegradable.

Suggestion for oil/grease-resistant paper for fortune cookie messages?

Quick update in the search of the fortune Graal... I received yesterday samples of OGR and NSR(?) papers from the company in ME, USA. Their website claimed excellent print ability and I was surprised to see how good looking the document got out of my inkjet printer. Ref first picture. These...

Suggestion for oil/grease-resistant paper for fortune cookie messages?

@Ink stained Fingers , @PeterBJ , thank you much both for your comments and suggestions, To be honest, I had that doubt about the ink on such surface (thanks @PeterBJ for the picture), but not being from the print industry, I didn't know what to look for if the water-based ink didn't work...

Suggestion for oil/grease-resistant paper for fortune cookie messages?

Thank you @soysauce , We changed the vegetable oil of the original recipe for butter to enhance the taste but you might be right with the type of fat vs the amount of stain. The industrial manufacturer of cookies in Montreal uses coconut oil if I remember well. Another test to be made is to...

Suggestion for oil/grease-resistant paper for fortune cookie messages?

Thank you @CreativeMess, This would be less of an out-of-the-box solution as I'm hoping for, but hey, at this point, I'm open to anything. I'm actually waiting for samples from a paper manufacturer from Maine (who was kind enough to send them despite me being a client Z for them), and also from...

Suggestion for oil/grease-resistant paper for fortune cookie messages?

@The Hat For sure, that would prevent contact with the grease of the cookie 😂 And people certainly would remember the fortune cookies with the messages inside a plastic bag. 😜 I'll let you guys know what if I find anything...

Suggestion for oil/grease-resistant paper for fortune cookie messages?

Thank you @The Hat , I don't know if there is any glossy photo paper manufacturer that went through FDA certification for Direct Food Contact, but I'll check. I could also work with a lab to certify it, I guess. But that's more $$$. 💸 I did search for C/2S papers, but what I've found so far...

Suggestion for oil/grease-resistant paper for fortune cookie messages?

Canon Pixma G3200. Can't print on heavy cardstock (would have been great for another project) but has been working fine for almost two years now. Thank you again @stratman for your interest and all comments. 👍🏻

Suggestion for oil/grease-resistant paper for fortune cookie messages?

Thank you Stratman, Yes, I saw inkedibles.com in the past, though I originally got my inks from Colorcon and lately from icinginks.com (smaller quantities available vs Colorcon, and excellent service). And your suggestion of a dedicated printer is exactly what I did, filled with edible ink...

Suggestion for oil/grease-resistant paper for fortune cookie messages?

Hello all, I'm hopeful to connect here with someone who is knowledgeable in papers, especially food-safe papers, because my researches so far are not really helpful : Producers of food-safe papers won't waste much time on you if you're not a potential buyer of a truckload of paper; Print shops...

    Hi all

Hi all, I'm Frederic. I started a small business 2 years ago, making customized fortune cookies. I've bought a new Canon Pixma G3200 for it, filled it with edible ink since day 1, and had the pleasure to do thorough cleaning of the print head a few times already. And the subjects for which...
