I stubbornly persisted and bought one more cartridge. Flush hot distilled water+windex again. Ran WIC Strong twice...... Same result.
Never tried "Ink Charge" as I read it can use an entire cartridge, didn't think I'd have ink left to do nozzle check after. Doubt it would make a difference...
Uh oh, I spoke too soon.
So I did another WIC Cleaning, had 79% black left, now it's showing empty, "1%"?? I can't imagine WIC used that much ink.
Did a Nozzle check after, still has some breaks. :(
Oh well. Nothing else to be done at this point I guess. You don't think that Ink Charge would...
Interesting. I put a new Epson cartridge in though, ran a head cleaning, and nothing came out.
Will avoid 3rd party cartridges in future and buy refillables.
As far as correcting the final black lines, would you advise another WIC cleaning? Or is that too intense for the printer again?
Pardon the long length. Just wanted to post the whole journey of what I did, thought it was interesting.
#1: Hot Distilled water, let it sit in tube for 24 Hours:
#2: After 24 hours, I pulled the water & ink out backwards with syringe. Then flushed 2ML of fresh distilled water through it...
Trying the hot distilled water method this time, and for a full 24 hours.
Afterwards will use WIC Reset to do a more thorough Print Head Cleaning function.
If no luck, it's going in the trash!
(The bottom half of tubing is a more narrow tube, just hard to see in pic.)
Okay, so I did the whole "overnight windex paper towel underneath" and an 'overnight windex flush".
I put a windex soaked paper towel under the print head, sit for 3 hours so the ammonia vapors does its magic. Used a fresh towel to wipe the head, pulling back and forth.
I then put a tube over...
Okay. Looks like the printer tells you when its full anyhow. My concern was it doesnt and may get too full.
Also, some tutorials say that when I insert the solution filled syringe over the nozzle, I should let it sit overnight and let the solution soak before squeezing it through. Is that...
Okay, I will try with Windex this time, and try sucking outwards first, then push the windex through.
They are not refill cartridges, they are 3rd party cartridges in place of the OEM.
When it does print head cleanings, it dumps the ink in a sponge container in the back right? Won't it fill...
I have an Epson WF-3620. Sat idle for 1 year. Turned it on, the colors all printed fine. But Nothing came out of black. I flushed the black nozzle head with water through syringe.
All the black ink came out underneath to my paper towel, eventually was clear water after another flush, so I got...
