This is pigment ink, was advised the fade life of the pigment inks is much longer than dye inks. Im considering getting a scp800 so will be interested to hear how you get on with non OEM inks :)
Can vouch for the rihac pigment inks, i used them on my 1430, they are definately the best in terms of colour compared to other inks i bought on ebay although they were more expensive. Was originally going to go for the dye version but was advised by them apparently the fade life is not as good...

Just curious, how many times did you refill this printer/how much use did you get before you got the ink pad warning? im interested to see how quickly the waste ink pads fill up compared to other non ecotank models
There are so many variables here, it really goes down to the individuals needs -ie; paper size/print needs/multifunction needs/operating systems/inks types/usage etc
Rihac technicians were always very good at recommending printers and they use to have a printer recommendations page on there...
