At work, I print with both, a large-format Roland solvent printer and a large-format Mimaki solvent printer. When the cartridges are "empty" they still have about an ounce of ink left in them.
Are there any 4-colour desktop printers that can use the remnant ink from my large-format solvent...
Hey there T.H.
MY experience is that this is "overspray" caused by a head that is dying. (kind of like metal spatter that occurs with Flux-Core Welding if you know that process)

I'm a large-format printing technician for a print shop (West of Detroit, Michigan) but I'm also a LOOOOONG time photographer who has a couple "prosumer" photo printers. (Canon Pro-10/Epson XP-960 set up for sublimation)
Why am I here? Because I hate large corporate interests who like to coral...
