The 8550 OEM inks are pretty cheap considering the amount that you get and how long it lasts, and their expiration dates are 3-4 years out.

I doubt that they will do B&W photos as well as the 8550 with the lack of gray ink.

After using this printer now for a little more than a week, I don't know if I could go back to a cartridge-based printer. Ink management is pretty much a thing of the past, and the print quality is beyond what I expected.

They used to be quite decent for bulk inks and supplies, but I haven't ordered from them for several years. I use Precision Colors now.

UPDATE: I finally got a response from them. They are not selling bulk because of supply and quality issues. They actually haven't been selling bulk for quite some time. They are selling refilled carts. Where thery're getting the ink for those is anybody's guess.

Refurbs are a gamble. I got a refurb for my TS9020 and the printer didn't even recognize it. Returned it and got a new one. All good.

There is a guy on the big auction house that sells new in box, genuine Canon print heads (not cheap). I just got one for my TS9020 and it is the real deal. He also has the Pro-100 head.
