It happens I make a new profile for the same paper/ink with the Colormunki when I am not satisfied.
Sometimes the result is the same, sometimes I have the impression it is better (but maybe I did not respect the same paper dry times).
Anyway these differences are much smaller than between the...
Yes, but my eyes saw the imperfections of the Flexscan display clearly while the differences between prints from 2 printer/ink combinations both calibrated with the Colormunki are much smaller ;).
Dry time of ink, ambient light etc give a larger deviation, changing settings based on the first...
I bought a lowly EIZO Coloredge CS2420 last black friday.
My first monitor with even light and colour over the whole screen.
I preferred this one over a 27 inch Benq (with many complaints on this point).
But my previous EIZO Flexscan was rather poor too (and it came from an EIZO showroom)...
Found a supplier in Germany:
Could be a reference for prices.
Nice office indeed.
Success with your business !
@Ink stained Fingers elaborates all options with respect to everyones choices, but reading between the lines you can make your own conclusion (warning from an addict).
If you want to refill, go to pigment if you need longevity.
Be prepared for a learning cycle and upstart costs.
Since A3 dye...
That was my first impression too, but strange enough it is much darker now (see my measures).
No mistake, I refilled a fresh (flushed) cart to be sure.
Less glossy than the other inks indeed.
It is - as warned for - not fully scratch resistant on glossy paper (included Aldi), but only by rough...
My intention was not to make exact measurements, only a comparison.
Maybe the Canon paper was not the best choice, but I wanted to use a commonly available reference i.o. the Aldi paper.
I am an amateur, as most of the people who read this forum to find information - although input from...
We know that already, and thanks for helping to solve it :).
I loaded the PRO-10 again with 9 Octoinkjet + PC CO and will see if flushing is a long term solution of the "magenta problem".
Same eventually for the red.
People who complain here on the PRO-10 3th party inks forget how lucky they...
Agree with @Ink stained Fingers remark.
I understand custom regulations are so complex it is too much overhead for a small business.
MyUS does a good job but it is for people living in Dubai ;).
Pitney Bowes is for everyone who buys a small package at Ebay.
PS: I will continue with my ink...
Amazing indeed how everyone judges only on hearsay.
We must also not forget that - by absence of other fora on this matter - sadly enough we are the only voice (in the desert ?) and that we should try to stay objective and speak from experience.
IMO the most important criteria for (3th party)...
With all this panic about Octoinkjet magenta (and red - my fault, or is it prudence ?) I operated my printer with several configurations.
Here the profiles:
yellow= all octo
blue= octo + magenta OEM
green= octo + red OEM
IMO this inkset is quite well balanced in this direction, I wouldn't give...
For Belgium all fees where paid in advance, I could collect the package as is.
In EUR I paid €78.69 to PC and €46.06 to MyUS.
Depending on the sales volume of Precision Colors US customers possibly pay state taxes (between 5 and 10%) also.
My ink from PC via MyUS arrived today, after 5 weeks (over the Xmas period).
I must agree that I selected the least expensive option (Yun, DHL Netherlands, Bpost) but this has the advantage the package is delivered in the postal office nearby where it stays 14 days, while with Fedex you can...
My intention is not to mix different inks into one cartridge, only to choose a different manufacturer for some colors.
I am aware that there is a danger on the moment you change the cartridge, so when switching between 3th party inks I print a few full color pages to be sure.
What series were your last Canon printers ?
The life expectancy - at least when refilling - went down already long ago (since 525/526).
Rumors are that Canon added a coolant additive not available for 3th party, but it can also be that 2 years was a built in lifetime for these consumer printers...
I would indeed flush before switching from one 3th party ink to another since not all additives are compatible.
Only with OEM it is supposed to be tested for unwanted reactions.
@Borut 's experience the octo magenta is OK after thorough flushing encourages me not to abandon these inks too soon...
Did you use Octoinkjet red ?
I am quite sure it will only happen with magenta and red, these are the difficult colors for 3th party manufacturers.
You risk to create more problems with cleaning when it is not needed.
