I was after some syringes and needles for refilling my carts the other day and did not have time wait for these to arrive by mail.
I had a brainwave to contact surgical wholesalers to see if they supply retail customers. A local warehouse said yes and they had blunt needles in stock.
I wanted...
You could try a thorough clean of the parking station and the seal around the parking station. Also clean the wiper blade. I think that the parking station pump sucks a small amount of ink from the lines to enable the flow. This sometimes works for me and I usually do this first before exploring...
Without 'blowing my own trumpet' I say stick with it and do some of the excellent tutorials which are about.
I am an old hobbyist and I have picked up the basics which enable me to 3d Print just about anything that I need to build.
Fusion 360 has a few quirks to get over but once you master...
Yes that is the path that I am on however I have not gone through a full cycle of refilling the OEM carts. So far they are working well but who knows.
I have two sets of Refilled OEM carts. Note that you should not run these below about 20% so what I am doing is replacing BK,Y,M&C when then...
Thanks Flypaul,
I should have thought about Kayell and will give the D6 a try when I can afford them.

Not doubting your sentiment but hopefully somethings might have changed.
Part of the thread noted back then that:
"The trick may not be the cartridge so much as the chip. We need to remember that there's no history of Epson providing a "continue without warranty" option. Quite the opposite."...
Please note that the T512 Black ink in Pigment but the BK (photo black) and all of the colors are Dye ink.It would pay to ensure that you have the right black.
Hi Flypaul,
My method to-date is to use the T512 bottle inks for the ET7750 printer and I use original OEM for the LM and LC. From a cost perspective I am happy with this although I go through twice as many LM&LC carts as M+Y+C and the black carts seem to last double that again.
After...
This method of filling by bottom of cart works in physically filling the cart!
I have not yet tested with the chip resetter as I am waiting on this.
A couple of observations so far.
1. Using the Epson Eco Bottle T512 (Australia) inks which are designed for the ET7700/7750 printers produce...
Thanks for that
I think that this method would also work on the 277XL carts and could be a safe way of avoiding damage and leaks. I will also try this method and report back.

Phill
Thank you for this link. Yes appears to be exactly the same internal design as the OEM 277XL carts and the article gives me the confidence to buy some chips and start experimenting. The article states that there is very little room on the side of the carts so it will be a tight squeeze and I...
Thanks,
Aware that some OEM carts can be refilled and some can't - my question is has anyone had specific experience in refilling this type of cart Epson 277XL from a XP-970 printer, as per my photo, and or is it likely to work ?
Regards Phill
Thanks for that.
So do you think that it is it worth attempting to drill a hole in the top of the cart and attempt to refill the OEM unit or should i just use the generic carts with the foam in them.
Several people have commented in past posts that refilled OEM carts are better than the refill...
Hi,
I am hoping to refill OEM carts for my XP-970. I have pulled apart a used cart and have identified where i might be able to drill my inlet port. I can purchase chip resetter from InkOwl so I assume that refilling is possible on this late model cart.
I understand that I need to keep the...
Thank you for your help Stratman.
Hopefully someone will have experienced this themselves and come up with a another idea. In the interim I will just use this as a proof printer and print final prints on my newer XP-970.
Correct Stratman, VLM.
After cleaning the port it does not look damaged and appears the same as the other ports. As far as I can tell the seal is inside the cart like a grey ring which has a ball sitting on top held down by a spring. I only know this because I pulled the suspect cart apart out...
Hi Stratman, Thanks for responding - As your initial response was " a new OEM or aftermarket cartridge" that is why i ordered an aftermarket cart (from MR-AUS) one that was prefilled professionally with the bottom seal intact.
Prior to replacing this there was a buildup of ink around the ink...
Now that Epson has release a range of office printers that use 'Eco Tank' system would it be safe to use these inks to refill carts on my Epson XP-970 which is a 6 ink claria based printer?
My thinking is that I could use the Eco ink to fill Photo Black, Yellow, Magenta and Cyan and use OEM for...
