Epson SC-P900 compatible cartridge chips: resettable or not ?

Last I had a particular offer from somebody from Latvia, who wanted my Epson SC-P800 printer to be converted to DTF-printing. After some negotation talk he offered for an alternative deal: he wants to send his hardly used P900 printer for my Epson SC-P800 printer....Sounds like a great deal and...

I need help. I’m trying to find out which printer to use.

The Epson ET-8550 is what you want: very low ink costs and superb print quality (6 colour ink set including gray ink for neutral B&W printing).

    ET-8550 (US) firmware update

Fortunately the ET-8550 is an ecotank printer, so there is no risk of disabled possibility of aftermarket cartridges (chips refused) and other fun. If it would use cartridges and you are using refillables/aftermarket cartridges....watch out for firmware upgrades.

Epson SC-P900 compatible cartridge chips: resettable or not ?

Today after printing several pages the past few days I did a reset again with the LGY aftermarket chip, to see if the magic happens again (ink level dropped about 10 %): The light of the resetter went green again and the printer says YES again :)

Canon Pro-100 Banding in Standard Quality Mode but great in High Quality Mode

An educated guess (based on the topic starter uses PC inks) is that he refills: now after some time the ink flow of the cartridges will diminish a bit. The high speed printing mode can be problem when the ink is not fed fast enough towards the nozzles giving micro banding in high speed printing...

Can an Epson printer take HP ink?

Epson printers can take any type of ink (piezo, no heating) while Canon/HP works only reliable with ink that is designed for inks that wiill be heated (bubbljet, ink is partially evaporated). So yes: HP ink can be consumed by Epson printers.

Epson SC-P900 compatible cartridge chips: resettable or not ?

Today after some heavy printing, I tried to reset this aftermarket LGY chip again and it went flawlessly: again 100% full after the level dropped about 15% after several sheets of ABW-print that uses alot of LGY ink. For those interested and having a EU-version of the P900, this is the link in...

Epson SC-P900 compatible cartridge chips: resettable or not ?

This evening I printed 2 sheets of A4 with a solid area of light gray (about 2 ml's per sheet) to lower the level of the aftermarket chip for LGY and it does drop a bit like expected: After that I used my chip resetter to try to reset the chip. I tried a few times and the light of the...

Epson SC-P900 compatible cartridge chips: resettable or not ?

I am looking for that small square plastic chip holder. One of my cartridges did not had that chip holder, making it impossible to use that refillable cartridge. Very stupid, not sure someone is capable to make a 3D printed version of that small chip holder.

Epson SC-P900 compatible cartridge chips: resettable or not ?

Today I received my set of aftermarket chips from a seller at aliexpress and I tried the LG cartridge and see if it works and when the level drops a bit I will try if this chip can be reset or not with the resetter. The chip has a different design compared to the original chips: the upper chip...

    DIY Eco Tank bottles?

Inject the ink in the corresponding ink tank of your ecotank printer, so do not inject magenta in the yellow tank ;)

    DIY Eco Tank bottles?

Use a syringe to suck out the ink from the bottle and inject it directly into your printer in the corresponding colour.

Epson SC-P900 on new Inktec Powerchrome ink

Actually I am really impressed by the latest Inktec Powerchrome K3: the gloss is even stronger on glossy papers compared to original Epson Ultrachrome Pro-10 inks, however there is a bit more bronzing on some type of paper compared to Epson Ultrachrome Pro-10: maybe I should try the option to...

Epson SC-P900 on new Inktec Powerchrome ink

What about real life prints: I did a test with a picture I previous printed using original Epson ink with a dedicated profile for this ink, but I use the same profile to print but now the printer loaded with the Inktec Powerchrome K3 to see how the Inktec ink performs with the same profile and...

EPSON or CANON, help me decide

I would suggest the Epson ET-8550: it has straight paper path (8x10 and up). It is also very economical to print and does a great job with neutral black and white prints (gray ink included).
