Brand new Canon Pixma Pro 10s Error

I would as a last resort insert another color inside the troublesome ink slot and see if they light up. (you risk mixing colors but a print head cleaning would certainly clean everything). If it doesn't light up, your printer is faulty

Canon Pixma Pro 1 error 9000

Well they are breaking our french law, maybe in Ireland you don't have suck law! We in France do have this and Apple and other brands have been paying millions of euros after being sued in my country! https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-42615378...

Canon Pixma Pro 1 error 9000

Well, we have a law in my counry preventing this exact "fraud", so I'll surely use it when it is time  Either service my printer for free or you will get sued, period  (this is seriously infuriating) But I have seen recent Canon printers from 2018 get resetted with Canon service tool...

Canon Pixma Pro 1 error 9000

Do all new canon printers have disabled ink waste reset in service tool ? Or only pro models ? This move from Canon is against a french law against planned obsolescence. As a french, I would and will certainly sue them if my €1000 printer gets out of service because of a stupid locked ink...

Mysterious chip / sensor in Canon ix6820

PeterBJ, you were right! After checking with a magnifier, it actually is an optical sensor, the sensor is so tiny you can barely spot it. There is a tiny hole in the trunk facing the ink led lights at the bottom

Tubes for ink waste tank? Canon IX6820

I don't know if it's prone to damage due to static electricity, I touched it while the printer was on, and so far it seems ok, but I don't have ink cartdriges at the moment so can't test if all is ok. The main issue is I almost ripped the cable while pulling the top cover because I had no idea...

Mysterious chip / sensor in Canon ix6820

Well, there is no hole for a sensor to see light through in the "trunk" where the sensor sits... Could be magnetic detection ? But why would they put this sensor since there are already chips on each ink cartdridge that let the printer know they are inserted ? Also, it is not the WLAN card...

Tubes for ink waste tank? Canon IX6820

The procedure was identical to the IX6500 series except there is a weird sensor / chip you have to unscrew before taking the printer's top cover : This is where it is located. To open the plastic door, use a needle and slide to the left. Edit:

Mysterious chip / sensor in Canon ix6820

Hello, While disassembling my Canon printer, I've found I had to move away a little chip that prevented me from taking the printer's top cover. I touched the PCB while the printer was on and fear I have damaged something. I would like to know what is actually does. This is how it looks ...

Tubes for ink waste tank? Canon IX6820

Hello, I have found the service manual for Canon 6500 series, which is identical to the 6800 seeries, so the tear down process looks the same! I bought 4mm aquarium pipes on aliexpress and will install them as soon as the printer displays the infamous 5b00 error! I currently have the service...

Print with white borders - Best workflow ?

Hello everyone, I'm looking to print photos with white borders around. How would it be best done ? Preparing all my photos with photoshop and adding a white border for each one of them ? Or doing it in the Canon printer settings just before printing ? Can it be done ? (I'm using a Canon...

Difference between CMYK and CMYK + Grey?

Thank you for giving it a shot ! That's very interesting because, despite the extra GREY ink, it doesn't looks like there is much of a difference between the two, regarding middle tones. Does the Canon 8750 B&W print looks really better in real life compared to your mg6650 print ? Also, if you...

Difference between CMYK and CMYK + Grey?

Thank you all for your replies, it’s very interesting but I still can’t have a clear answer about my question, how would the difference be seen between two identical images printed using the same paper, same greyscale image printed in greyscale on two different similar printers like Canon pixma...

Difference between CMYK and CMYK + Grey?

I did not precise it but PIXMA 8720 and 6820 both have dye ink, and CMYKK except 8720 have an extra GREY ink. So would the difference really be noticable between the two in B&W photos using greyscale printing mode? (No color used)

Difference between CMYK and CMYK + Grey?

Hello, I would like to know whether someone has ever tried to print the same black and white image on a CMYK printer and on a CMYK + Grey ink to compare the results? While eveeyone says that the difference is clear, I can’t find any test online to see by myself how it really is... For example...

    Canon ip8750/ip8760/ip8720/ip8740 ink absorber reset

Hello, I just bought this printer and because I want to be ready to operate it to its full potential, I would like to know if anyone here have tried accessing service mode on one of those printers, and resetted its ink absorber's counter using Service Tool (which version should I use to prevent...
