I joined your forum a few days ago after discovering a wealth of information and knowledge in this community.

Due to a long-distance move, my printer and photography went on a sabattical for about 2 years. I recently started printing again and forgot how much fun it can be, not to mention how challenging it can also be at times.

I currently own two "vintage" Epson Stylus Pro 3800 printers that I love (when they are behaving).

If I could have one printer, it would be a pigment printer that doesn't switch between Photo and Matte blacks. Of course it would have to perform at least as good as the 3800. Bigger would be better too, but I know that requires more $ and floor real estate.

I recently acquired an HP OfficeJet Pro 8725 to replace my 8600 which had a printhead problem. Before that, I had two other HP printers and a Canon Pixma for documents.

The only tinkering I've done with printers is cleaning the capping station, wiper blade and under the heads. I may soon be refilling carts and experimenting with various printer settings... primarily to workaround some hardware issues.

I posted a thread yesterday and already received helpful advice from several people. Thanks to all of you for taking the time to share your knowledge.

It's a good board this one - helpful folks who have "been there done that" - and have probably not only "worn the T-shirt" but printed it themselves too.

Thanks, guymark.

Only a few days onboard and I've already received great advice from the community. :)
