Hi all - looking for some ideas on small form factor printers to bundle in with our POS software - for receipt printing primarily, order slips and panel-mount ones for building into kiosks & service points.

Not sure if i'm in the right place, as I know you guys deal mostly with the big'uns. Just on the offchance you'd come across something that the average joe wouldn't know about!

Cheers in advance

I think there are some questions open - what is the intended printing width ? Do you want to print in color ? What is the intended printing volume ? Would a roll thermal paper printer be o.k. ? Are you aware which printers are on the market in your country ?

Hi!
Thanks for your response.

Width is 3-4" - some kiosks will print smaller receipts, others print more of a 'bill' type with a little more information on. Thermal paper is what I was expecting to be honest - otherwise the cost of consumables and maintenance on our kiosks would rocket. Based in the UK so would ideally like a UK manufacturer to avoid costly shipping & support.

Currently I know of a few manufacturers we have already explored, however with many tech purchases you don't really know what you're buying until you've heard from the people using them. Often it's too late!

I've looked at http://www.able-systems.com/kiosk-printers and also Newbury and Zebra. Unfortunately there isn't a 'tripadvisor' for printers so it's hard to guage durability without a bit of inside knowledge.

Was hoping that was where your expertise would come in!
