In my home, I have a hp 1020 laserjet printer. The cartidge model is 12A. Now I want to refill its toner by myself. Can you please guide the proper way of refilling including necessary tools. In details and if you can plz attach some images or videos.

Thanks in Advance....

Hello!

You can follow the instructions in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BJwTjEE_QU&list=PLA81AD68B34B82FE8&index=62&feature=plpp_video .

But be careful! The toner is a very, very, very fine powder and it is dangerous if inhaled. Maybe not so much if you refill one cartridge at home once a year, but it's dangerous. I followed valejet's video instructions with a 96A and it worked great. Except the fact that I spilled one bottle of toner on the desk, floor, carpet... :) It was a great workout cleaning that up! The stuff got everywhere.

Or you can follow this instructions (much easier, but it might work only on first refill): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7oFSZZH3Bk Do not drill the plastic with anything else because bits of plastic will get into the toner compartment and will destroy the cartridge.

Is your cartridge OEM never refilled? What is your location?

Hi,first, locate a fill hole, for that use refill kits with a burn tool which is used to burn a fill hole in the cartridge.Second, fill the cartridge with the right toner.Third, reseal the fill hole and finally shake the cartridge to evenly distribute the toner and reinsert into your printer - that easy!

It's pretty simple, like the friends above described. I used to do it myself for my 1020, but now i just buy a compatible. Here in Greece the 2612A compatibles are pretty cheap. Almost as cheap as buying the powder.

Simply press the channel top tenderly against the fill gap and delicately tap the side of the toner bottle until the jug is void. The last stride is to reseal the fill opening. In the event that your cartridge had a pre-made fill gap you basically reinsert the plastic fitting that you expelled before.
