I believe the cartridges are still in the unit, is this still a problem? If I find chips, can I put them in this way? what did you mean in your previous response about being able to provide a full new set, of what exactly?

If I were to purchase all new ink, can I use the chips from the new inks twice?

Sorry to revive quite an old thread, but I have the same problem, have acquired an Epson 3800 with none of the required cartridge chips to use any of the refill systems. Pharmacist, do you have any tips for places to find them?

@ Jtoolman and Pharmacist... Seems like we're hitting a wall here... picked up 3880 from partner and original carts were gone. Needs chips and willing to pay for used functional carts. Any ideas guys? With so many of these printers all over the place, it's hard to imagine that some photography studio or printing firm doesn't have a trash bin full of these things!
