shpitz, I can't see the picture.

freqz,

the waste ink pad on these compact printers are small and it doesn't take many cleanings to run the counter up. Once you get into dismantling the print head. You're into tech level territory and reassembly resealing is critical. It is possible that the printer has a defect somewhere as well. For the time being, use wicreset to reset the counter or the appropriate adjprog.exe if you can find it and carry on.

I personally have not dismantled the heads on these because I have never had the need. So I can't help you at that level.

On these printers, any broken seal or leak will cause bad printing and diagnosing is not simple because of the tubes in the middle not immediately allowing any fixes to appear immediately on retrying. When they work, they're nice printers. When they go wonky, they can be monsters.

I have been warning people about forcing cleaning solutions with pressure on the newer Epson printheads. The old printers would survive this nicely. I have run across a couple of examples where this is causing damage rather than curing a problem. Only do this as the ABSOLUTE last resort and you have nothing to lose. Otherwise you might be hurting the printhead. The printhead on the Artisan has high nozzle densities and might be more fragile as well.

Just paste the text into the browser and you'll see the image, the forum won't allow me to post the image since I'm new...

I just tried pasting i.imgur.com/Uv1FT.gif into the browser and I can see the image I scanned.

Is there an adjprog.exe for the Artisan 810?

I'm used to my trusty Epson 300m ( may it RIP ) which you could do almost anything too :) Heck I used to collect my waste and and resuse it as black ( And it worked nicely too ).

I figured I have nothing at all to lose which was why I've done what I've said so far. Right now, I Trying to run some really color rich prints to get the ink flowing again. I'm not certain, but I'd swear this artisan 810 has at least a 5 ml internal reservoir.

Hopefully in the next 30 minutes I'll have a "it works" or "oh well I tried" reply.

i'm in the same boat... the printer served me well for 2.5 years, I'm going to try everything to salvage it, at this point I have nothing to lose.

Fry's has the Artisan 837 for $120, I might just buy the new one if I can't rescue my 810.

Looks like you have ink flow but a clog might be what you are experiencing. If you've done like a few head cleanings and the pattern is exactly like it was before. First check that the parking station rubber seals are not dirty or have something hanging on the side. Soaking heads on these is complicated because the purge station rises with a motor driving it up. The only way I can see is to do it outside of that area. You will need some strips of synthetic chamois. While the printer is printing, you pull the cord. Place a piece of waterproof plastic wrap under the chamois. Put strips of sythetic chamois under the printhead and build it up until it touches the underside. . Now soak the chamois full of windex. This will allow the windex to get under the printhead. So the chamois must be in contact with the underside. Let it soak for an hour and then remove the stuff and see what the result is.

Well long story short. Numerous full color prints and cleanings I was stopped dead in my tracks about the waste pad's. Pulled them out rinsed and squeezed them clean, and added in some pieces of shamwow, just to take up the space. Extended the Waste tube out the back into a nice little tupperware container. Reset the counter with the utility from epsons site, and was working fine.

I've however now encountered a new issue with my CISS ( The Deluxe ) one. It seems When I was getting good printing, it would slowly taper off. If I removed the big plugs on the CISS holding tanks I would hear a release of pressure, and the printer would start printing properly again.

So all in all, the only way I'm getting good constant printing with my CISS is to have it slightly elevated, and the big plug's not sealed.

I did check the little breather tubes and they are all free.

If I take a syringe and suck through the cartridge in the printer I get strong resistance UNTIL I remove the main big plug on any of the colors. As soon as I remove the big plug, I get easy flowing ink.

Which printer you got? Mind sharing the procedure? or are you working off of a service manual? I'm not sure where I should begin...

Do you have any pictures of the CIS system?

It sounds a lot like the vent plugs/holes are blocked for that level of resistance so something isn't right, but pictures would help to understand the setup/design and figure out what it might be.
