OK here is an update on my progress for refilling these new PGI-29 cartridge tanks.
After a number of failures I have come up with a fairly easy solution to the problem.

Anyone can make up this refilling tip from any of your needles in your refilling arsenal.
I am going to call The Hat Tip refilling method for argument sake because thats all it is.

Just take a needle then twist and pull out the steel section from the plastic holder and your half way there.
Next put the needless base onto a syringe just for safety sake and cut, trim off the little winglets on either side of the base till they are smooth.

If you fit this to a larger 60 ml syringe you now have the new refiller.
You can either fill your syringe first or later it doesnt matter just fit your new tip to the end of the syringe and your ready to refill.

Here is an up-date on this procedure.
Since making this thread I have revised the method slightly so now the cartridge needs to be on bottom with the syringe on top.
There is no need to remove any of the ink from the cartridge only the air and thats accomplished
better if the syringe is held above the cartridge and follow this procedure instead (Link Below).

These cartridges are as easy to refill as the PGI9 cartridge with almost the same methods used just a different gadget on the syringe that all.
Now all I got to do is find out where I can get all of the inks from.. :)

Looks good uncle The Hat, but how do we get the plastic to change shape and go from magenta to yellow? You are a master alchemist! :bow

I would call it The Tip of the Hat Method.
Do you have a Pro1 & how do you like it?
What about resetting the cart chips?

Wondering if the old Epson Bottom Fill adapter do the job a little better...

Hats off to rodbam, well the tip anyway.

No I dont have one yet but am working on the wife, hope she cracks soon dough. :hugs :fl
I dont really care if there is no chip resetter for these printers because the cartridges are so big,
I will probably just use a scales till an ARC chip is available.

Any information on this bottom filler and where to get it would be appreciated
all dough I think it might not be long enough to make contact with the piston but would give it a try anyway.
Everything little helps, thanks Martin.. :)

@The Hat.

I haven't seen one of these cartridges before but your refill method looks very similar to the way i fill the old epson cartridges (t0491's etc.) Have you tried using a small piece of flat rubber and puncturing a hole through it with a syringe? then you just need to shorten the needle to the appropriate length (i use a Stanley knife to cut around the needle until it's weak enough to snap off with pliers.) It should create a good seal and make it easier to change between colours. Hope this helps!

I have tried lots of different way to refill these cartridge tanks, its not the refilling that's the problem, it's the air that’s introduced into the bag when refilling, it must be released last.

I didn't try your method before but will certainly have a go with it, every little bit helps thanks..:)

Looks almost like the old BJI-643 cartridges (of which I still have several).
