I found this an HP 564 refill kit review. No other information, not even the printer model. Does anyone know what this is about?

"To reset the chip, click on the tool icon (top right corner), then Preferences and scroll down to Cartridge Chip Info. Follow the instructions on screen. Piece of cake!!"

This is very interesting if (1) it's true and (2) it applies to my printer. :)

Where are you from? I'm from Queensland, Australia and HP 564 cartridges cannot be reset. My suppliers sell replacement chips for them, but the cost of the chip cuts into the profit too much. I'm sure you are aware that they still print with the old chip, it just likes to remind you that you are "out of ink".

I'm not sure to whom that question is addressed, but I have not yet seen a reset method for those chips. I now just keep track of pages printed, and weigh the cartridges from time to time to see if they are getting empty. I have seen replacement chips, and I suppose that is an option, although it drastically increases the cost of printing.

Sorry, i'm new to this forum, but not new to refilling. I was addressing you Thrilla.

I fill these cartridges every day and i just explain to the customers that they will always say they are empty. But they seem to understand and just bring them back when the print quality deteriorates.

I also posted the weights and some other information on another post someone made about their hp c209a.

I have been printing with the set up cartridges that I regularly refill. HP Photosmart 6510. The issue I experience is that the first job of each print session fails. It will print a page and a half and then cuts off clean. I can print the pages again without any further issues until the next time I use the printer. My Google searches have turned up others who have experienced this issue and it seems that it is always related to low cartridges showing nearly empty ink levels. Anyone else have this issue when using empty chips?

Guys i found this on youtube, it might be useful to you, you can reset the inks here, i havent tested it before because i got a damage printhead. but i will update this thread if i got a hands on the new parts soon.
you can do a full reset or partial only, i found also a reset counter option for the inks too in the menu. this is for hp photosmart b210e that also uses 564 ink cartridges.

Jeremyst, the video doesn't really show much about what's going on. Do you have more information? I assume each printer has a reset procedure, but this resets factory defaults. Do you know if it resets memory of cartridges?

The video does not show how to reset the ink consumption, as it only focus on how to enable a full reset, however i browse through the whole hidden menu and found also a reset for the inks.
But i will update you as soon a i have my new printhead, whether i able to reset the ink levels or not ;)
