Monitoring ink by weighing

My results for Canon MG6120 (Canada) are:

M 0.9 g
BK 0.7 g
GY 0.9 g
PGBK 0.4 g
CY 0.9 g
Y 0.7 g

This includes a nozzle check to trigger the purge on my printer.

The main point here is that you will waste a fair bit of ink when you change carts. My question is that if I change a cyan cart will it purge all the carts? From some reading here some have said that it will purge CLI but not PGBK....true or false?

I fill these every day. (HP 564's)

Standard capacity: Black: Empty 21g, Full 30g. Colours: Empty 17g, Full 22g

with the XL versions you can just look through the window in the reservoir side to check the levels, when there is no ink in that side just use the weights i provided for the standard cartridges

If they say "setup" anywhere on the cartridge, they hold slightly less.

Hope this clears some things up for you!

p.s. there are replacement chips available, but are a bit too pricey for my liking.

I have a set of XL cartridges with windows I retrieved from a recycling bin, but the new ones I have bought do not have a window. Some of them don't even have a transparent prism, so I have to rely on weight unless I want to spend a lot of money on chips.

I have the weight as slightly under 27 g for an empty black cartridge, not 21 g.

@ThrillaMozzila.

there must be a difference between these cartridges from country to country.

Unless you are talking about the freakishly large hp564 XL black cartridges that i've seen before. Not sure what the deal is with those.
