Has anyone bought any compatible cartridges for Cli-521 and PG-520 and from where?

Do you have any observations which cartridge brands leak or don't work OK.

On the german printer forum I read that Pelikan have great compatibles but they plan to release cli-521 in October, which is so far away in time. :(

Although I have not seen nor used them but from my past experience of using compatible cartridges they are far from the quality of OEM cartridges. There is really no point of using them when you can simply refill your own OEM cartridges for the cost of only refill ink. The fact is those compatible cartridges are made in China with cloned chips. The problem will not be on the chips. The problems are the cartridges that are mostly poor in quality. I recently bought some speakers from a seller selling on ebay from China. The first pair of speaker broke a terminal from one speaker in about a week. The 2nd par of speaker (different ones) got a crack on the plastic on the first day when I started to play with them. This is just my most recent quality problems with products made in China. There were too many of them in the past on ink cartridges such as compatible Epson and for Canon. All junk. Again, you can refill your OEM cartridges why buy those junk?

A compromise would be refilling the original cartriges and buy a set of autoreset chips and attach them on the original cartridges as these originals are far superior in construction quality. Buy a set of Inktec CLI-521/PGI-520 compatible ink and you are set. Sofar you would save much more after only a few refills.
