- Canon Pixma IX6850
Hello.
I have a 4 year old Canon Pixma IX6850 which has a fault. It affects photo printing whereby any size print using various different quality photo papers comes out with a very heavy yellow tint and is completely unusable however I can successfully print colour documents OK. I have done all the obvious things to try and fix this, including replacing the print head, but without success. I have attached a copy of the nozzle check printout and I have also been in touch with Canon's service department who have given no clues - just advised me to send the whole printer to them for assessment but I suspect that any repairs plus shipping costs might well be more than a replacement which can be found for around £300 or so. I have a backup printer which copes well with up to A4 but I really would like to get the IX6850 up and running as the A3 capability is quite useful for my photography and when it works the print quality is pretty good. I have found a seller on Ebay who can supply a replacement motherboard but I'm just a little wary of spending out more at this stage especially if there's no improvement when I replace the board.
Any advice or suggestions would be most welcome.
Thanks.
