Now you've got me Feckin started...
Ah @Artur5, I was once like you, I had a passing interest in 3D but knew it was W A Y above my head when it came to making anything useful and designing was completely out of the question, if truth be know it was beyond the stars for someone with Dyslexia ..
But one day @Nifty posted a link to a very reasonable little 3D printer and that tweaked my interest so much so I bought one the following week, the next question was how do I go about learning to use, make and print something. Then I found this site… www.thingiverse.com
As far as space was concerned I just mover one of my printer to another location and plunked the New 3D printer in its place, then I got lots of help and tips right here on the Nifty forum and started to print the stuff that I found useful in “thingiverse”.
I was introduced first to http://www.openscad.org/ .. then to https://www.tinkercad.com/ and then to www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/students, but quickly realised I was out of my depth, so I settle for “Openscad” and watched their tutorial videos, now here’s what I did to get started…
I screen printed sections of loads of videos where there was code in it that I wanted to use to make something myself, before long I was making my own code, again by copying my previous files that I’d made and used earlier. (Copys of Copys)
I can tell you this, once the 3D bug gets you, it’s an even bigger trill than colour printing, the pleasure it gave me to be able to create something out of nothing and then hold it in your hands, or in some cases in my garden..
The more you make the better you get and failure only brings on more interest in making it better next time, you heard the saying “Failure is not an option” well with 3D printing it never needs to be… pleasure is something that is created in your own mind and it’s priceless..
Is 3D printing more expensive than Inkjet printing, I don’t really know because I used inkjet printers to solely make money, there was no pleasure to be gained by it, that came later with 3D printing and the most pleasing part is, I don’t make a penny from it, and it’s really lovely…
If I have missed out on anything, then please have your say and put me right or wrong, it won’t make any difference to me because I’ve been converted to that other dimension..
I have to stop stop NOW...
