Hi guys, in the end i decided to go with the Epson XP6100.
At €101 it seemed like a good deal, plus i wanted to see how Epson fares.

Edit:

Thank you, it arrived today, it seems nice, i do have to use some little things from the Canon, but nothing major.
It seems to print a bit on the contrast side, but i will fine tune it eventually by trialing a bit.

p.s. Is there a way to add paper stocks?
I mean on the Canon print dialog, on the properties tab, i had paper types from plain paper all the way to photo premium ones.
Now i only have plain (draft, normal, high) and Photo papers (glossy, matte)
It's missing "high resolution paper" which i used to print the DVD Covers.
In essence it was a Premium Inject Paper, 135gr, Matte.
Can i add a preset to the dialog for this kind of paper?

Thanks again!

Consider this a premium type of Plain Paper setting. However, a Photo Paper setting should be a better selection for printing on printable DVD's. If not, then the coating on your media is not that good to begin with.

You are now using an Epson printer. They may have significant differences in the controls and printed output than your old Canon printer.

Can i add a preset to the dialog for this kind of paper?
1) It may be when you select DVD to print that your software only allows certain paper settings.

2) You can add other paper types but you will need to use a different printer profile file - instructions the printer uses to control ink use based on the printer model, ink used and the specific paper used. You can make or buy custom printer profiles, though I never used a custom printer profile for printing on disks. Chances are you will be good without a custom profile.

Again, if the results of printing on a disk are not pleasing to you then try different paper type settings and/or try a different printable media as each make and model of printable disks vary in printed appearance.

Speaking of printed disk appearance... this can be used to assist in producing a desired perceptual effect. For example, Taiyo Yuden, a Japansese manufacturer of the world's best disks back when I was burning/printing disks, had a printable surface that looked a bit like an orange peel. Certain professional disks had this appearance and the TY disks emulated that.

Thank you for your answer, i will need to experiment a bit.
So far i'm happy with it. It's only a few little things i;ll have to iron out.

Thanks again to all of you guys for the great help and knowledge!!

I think I remember those TY media, they gave a kind of silk screen print look to me, I considered them the best in appearance, I think I printed those with some glossy paper setting .
Epson is not (and was not) supplying printable CD/DVD's , so they cannot really create a specific setting for them, there are a few different types on the market which differ signficantly. I remember one type which could not take much ink at all creating ink puddles on the CD which rendered them practically useless, I used some PVC stickers on them finally.
So yes, follow @stratman 's advise and test some different driver settings

Something I haven't seen as a suggestion, is a third-party software
to generate prints on disks. I've used the Acoustica CD/DVD Labeler
for several years, and it's exceptional.
I believe @stratman uses it, too.

It offers all sorts of image adjustments, circular text fields, infinite
adjustment of print size & disk sizes, tons of disk types, print offset
for perfect centering, etc...

I’ve used Photoshop to print directly onto NEATO CD A4 media sheets, just scan the blank sheet in and use it as a template, your free to pick your own media setting..

I am glad to see you are now familiar. I would advise you if you want to buy best printer for infrequent use then go for laser printers.
And how would you propose that the high-heat-transfer method of laser print
be applied to plastic CDs/DVDs?

A foolish and potentially destructive proposal, in my estimation.
