Thanks for the info Richie. That's good to know !. Possibly it works also for the Pro10 ?.
I suspect that it wouldn’t be any good in my case. In all likelihood service mode of my Pro10 is locked, after messing in vain with a previous version of that reset tool.

Anyway 30K pages of smallish prints in borderless mode possibly translates to more than 20K DINA4 sized pages in normal mode?. Good enough for a number of years, with my printing rate. I wish the printhead would last that long.
The listing says it works on the pro-10 and pro-1. Also, I think it's the constant automatic purging and cleaning cycles these printers do that really soaks them. Especially when printing a lot, since I'm refilling, I change them before they get low, but that leads to several cleaning cycles.

I wonder if there's an easy way to get some of the excess ink out of the pads without having to fully disassemble the printer to remove them.

Now we need a "Printer Potty" kit for the PRO-100. Anybody listening?? It might be a tough "dig" to install, though...

Epson, Canon, HP... A "few"
It’s as easy as removing the top cover and purge unit (3 screws) or the long way… This might help…

Ok... I've been getting queries off the back of this so can I ask what your "short" version is @The Hat and I'll see if I can take apart my spares/repair Pro-100 enough to dry run an external waste kit fitting process... then see how transferable it is for the Pro-10.

Hello everyone, I have the same problem with my canon PRO 100S , I've reached the waste ink pad limit, and get the 5B00 error. I've just bought the service tool 5204 from ebay, I just hope that it will work, since I've started other versions of service tool and got the error 006 . Can someone please confirm that the service mode for PRO 100S is:
press cancel, keep pressed, press power, realease cancel, press cancel 4 more times, then release both buttons.
Thank you, I will reply as soon as I try the ST 5204.

The best "solution" is to purchase a new, but parted out, PRO-100 printer from a internet seller (particularly if you can avoid shipping costs). Parted out means the inks and printhead have been removed from the box and sold seperately. This was quite common when those fantastic Canon rebates were available. For instance:

Unfortunately the service tool 5204 did not worked , it's either I don't know how to put the printer in service mode, or I've blocked the service mode with the other versions of service tool, I still get error 006. If was wondering if Richie used other versions of service tool before tried with 5204 and how did he put the printer in service mode, maybe I'm doing something wrong.
Unfortunately I'm from Europe, and the printer is $75 and the shipping cost $150 or more :(
I've bought a new one and I outsourced waste ink with a hose in a bottle, but I still hope I can fix the old one.

I’ve yet to hear of anyone who had success with that 5204 Service Tool on any of these Pro printers, they may work on the small desktop printers , who knows.:hu.

When you have reached the waste pads full notice, you have 2 alternatives , 1 is to send to a Service Agent and have then clean and reset the ink counter, and 2 dump it and buy a new one.. either ways is going to cost you.. Sorry..:(

10 post ago Richie said he had successfully resseted the printer with service tool 5204 : " Long story short, within 2 minutes I was able to reset both printers successfully. "
I was wondering how he putted the printer in service mode .

The listing says it works on the pro-10 and pro-1. Also
I’m sorry @Artur5, but I reckon Richie’s claims are still very dubious for me to give them any creditably, and EBay seller will also make erroneous claims for money.

To claim this Service tool also works on other Pro printers sends out a red flag to me, why ? because I know for fact (100%), that the Pro 1 cannot be reset by an owner with 5204 Service Tool…
