@BNDAZ, Your printer may have an updated Firmware and if so you may not be able to use ARC chips, but I’ve never heard of that happening yet with the maxify, so for now refill all the OEM carts and and run with ink monitoring disabled, you will need to buy a set of aftermarket carts, before you can try the ARC chips on the OEM carts again…
Interestingly, i found a used Maxify 2320 (2 years Old) for $10 so i bought it and tested it.
SAME result using the aftermarket Carts in IT( with OLD firmware) , works with OEM
So i am assuming it is literally an issue with the cart not the chip.
I am going to switch the ARC chips form the aftermarket to the OEM carts and see what happens.

Did you do any nozzle check prints after putting in the ARC carts? When you change carts in the Maxify you can get air in the system sometimes. If that happened then you may have been able to print a couple of pages with the residual ink in the print heead but air then resulted in the printer sending the B504.

Take a look at the outlet port on the carts you filled. There is probably a spring loaded plunger in the port. On one occasion I saw that there was air in that port outlet and with a blunt cocktail stick I depressed the plunger a few time until I saw ink filling the outlet port chamber and coming out. That then resulted in a good nozzle check print.

The other possiblility is that one or more of the ARC chips are faulty and the printer doe snot recognise the cart?

Sorry - just saw your post which arrived as I was typing!

Sounds like your carts are possibly faulty. I'd try the ARC chips on the OEM's and adda little ink to each OEM and test.

good insight that may have been it, it wouldn't even get to the point to be able to perform a nozzle checkt 504 error appeared before that.
Already changed the chips over, im ioing to be away for a week or so but will report back upon testing those.
