Probably ;) I think to protect the entire lamp from the elements including D, you should spray with an acrylic laquer or similar but test it on a test part first for a few days to see what happens.

More shots of the progress I'm making with the 5 lamp project.

This is the lantern printing with all the support (Scaffolding) around it, when using scaffolding it takes much longer to complete the print than it would if I didn’t use any.
Untitled-4.jpg
This print stood at 295 mm high and finished after 60 hours, and here is what was inside the scaffolding when I removed the outside layers, not bad I reckon, it was my fourth attempt at designing the lantern.. This one only has 5 glass windows instead of 6 on the previous ones.

P.S. No more vibrations detected when running the Gantry at such high levels..

@The Hat - looking good. In the future we may have dual extruders on the next creality machine versions, then the support material can be done in soluble filament. Once complete the part can be run under water and the supports just melt away, saving lots of clean up time.

An update on continued use…

My Auld CR-10 control box was mighty hot last night, I haven’t turned if off for more than ten days and it’s been printing most of that time, I placed a 25 cm fan beside the box in an effort to cool the box down and it worked.. (Continued to print)..

I opened the box this morning and as suspected the two small fans inside were bunched, and as soon as I replace them I’ll be back printing once more.. It’s not often your loyal supporters let you down… (Fans).. :D

This is my latest print,

I finally got to finish out the top of the Lantern today, after only 76 hours, there was one false start the other day when a Feckin Plant digger cowboy ripped into the underground power lines trying to finish out a job at 9 30 in the evening, the Gobshite set fire to his digger…
P.S. I diden't get a photo of the Digger... :( and the print was only 8 hours in, so not to much lost..;)

Looks fantastic, but please tell me you have decided to use low energy bulbs in the lamp, as too much heat would be a disaster ;)
