Hello everyone,

Apologies if this is not in the right section first of all.

I am looking to purchase a printer that is able to print on a long roll of paper (possibly up to 8m long). On something about as wide as the paper tape measures you might have seen in Ikea (2cm).

I need something that can print in long lengths as I want to be able to print "markers" along it.

I receipt roll is the sort of thing I have in mind. :)

Any help would be much appreciated, cheers.

You can do that on any HP Deskjet 8xx in banner mode. But this printer would not last for long if you do not use full A4 with. So you would need to stack these 2 cm tracks

Thank you for the reply. "Stacking" them is something I hadn't considered before, so thank you for that idea! I think It will help to keep paper usage down in the case below.

If this looks to be too wasteful hopefully someone might have another option as well though!

I'm using this for a business idea, where hopefully there will be quite a lot of thin (~2cm) by 7-10m "strips"of paper printed on.

With this z-paper paper product (link below) would I be able to print a length of 2000 sheets by 241mm then?

That would come to 482 metres (2000 x 241mm). This would be the kind of lengths I would like to work with as each print would be around 7 - 10 metres in size!

For this fan-fold paper you would need an Canon BJC 5500. It has tractor feed system, Yes I do have two of them on stock but do not knew if you would be able to print seamless banner. To much other thing to do. But this is only tractor paper feed system still available

Hi jack, you are wasting your time looking for continuous inkjet printing because they don’t exist on the open market, there are industrial printers that cost thousands but for the most, there’re not suitable for home use.
There are till receipt rolls and fax roll paper available but no quality printer can use these..
Dot-matrix printers do use continuous perforated paper feed but only print in one colour and the print quality is very poor, so you’re chasing an elusive ghost, best just to forget it…
