My MAXIFY 5350 is on refill ink

If an Inkjet printer is worth getting then the Maxify qualifies more than any other, I don’t do a thing to mine it just sits there till I hit print then it cranks up and spits out the printed pages

I got a cotton cover over mine and use the printer top as a shelf from time to time with only the output tray visible, the beauty of the printer is: the ink tanks are so huge and it never seems to run out of ink. (Or CLOG)

I reckon Canon made a mistake when they produced this one...

@The Hat - Your experience may differ from mine due to regional differences (EU/Ireland vs USA) concerning both Canon rules and your nation's laws. Just saying...

I have to agree because Canon.EU and Canon.US are completely different animals, we can also see that with their give away printer deals..

I can whole heartily recommend one, but get the model that suite you best, 5 to choose from..

I see that @stratman has been lured too by the siren songs from the land of Maxify.
The irony of the situation, in my case, is that now I don’t really need this machine, given that my IP3000 and Brother laser are doing fine. Why do I want to invest in a new printer with different inksets, ARC chips and all ?. My excuse for needing a scanner is a very poor one but @palombian, @TheHat and all other Maxify owners are so good at siren singing..
Canon should pay you regularly as sales agents.

No, they have to compete with HP and the like who have very competitive office AIO's.
But Canon does not sell them in the consumer channels, where they prefer to sell their dye "photo" printers.
A bit cheaper to buy but costly in ink and a short life expectancy.
Almost everyone uses them only for home office work.
Most people now consider ecotank models for the lower print cost. From what I read the lower models are not good for photos.
Think the print quality of the Maxify is better, and it is all pigment ink.

PS: Kudos to @The Hat who was the first to promote the Maxify

What do you mean by "consumer channel"?

In the US, the Maxify printers are listed under Home Office / Small Office, which I think is still a consumer designation and not part of their "Office" line of products.

Hi All!

Just to inform, all three colors are now refilled.
I think I will put a piece of painter's tape over the carts ink outlet port next time.
Because even when you are fast, a drop of ink can drip out when inserting
the cart into the printer.

Our service tool guru PeterBJ has pointed out in another thread the newest version of the alluded tool ( v5204) on sale at Ebay. According to the seller, it serves for almost any modern Canon printer -including Pro1,10,100,9500... and also the Maxifys.

I assume that nobody has tried yet on a Maxify, given that these machines are too recent to have their waste pads already saturated with ink ( unless you print thousands of pages per month).
Anybody here intends to try this tool when the time arrives ?..
I know that my Pro10s probably won’t do because, for @The Hat said, service mode is locked after I messed unsuccessfully with the front buttons, but it would be nice if my future Maxify could benefit from a waste pad reset.

I reckon you’d be better off staying away from this seller, because if its to good to be true then it usually is, the Pro 9500 doesn’t need the newer version, The Pro 1, the Pro 100 and Pro 10 cannot ender Service Mode so this Service tool would be useless, and the Maxify just might who knows.....
It’s odd that no one has come forward to say they were duped...
