It is Pro 100 . I did not try my old canon info in my computer because paperwork with printer said Compatibility was Windows 8.x or windows 10. Will 7 work you think?? I did not want to mess up or damage new printer. I have a lot to learn I know.

Yes. Windows 7 is supported by the Pro-100, unless they forgot to change their website that lists compatibility as OK for Windows 7.

Did you click on the link from my last post to see the files available for installing on Windows 7? The link is the underlined "necessary drivers". Regardless, the installation CD that came with your printer should have everything on it for installing your new printer. If not then you can go to Canon's website and download all the necessary files for installation or updates, though I do not recommend you update unless it is to fix a problem or gain a new function you need. Don't fix what isn't broken. ;)

It may even be that your previous installed software from your first Pro 100 will work fine with the new Pro 100. If the previous printer's software is still installed on your computer then just try connecting the new one with a USB cable and then booting up your computer and then turning on the printer. If it doesn't work then power down the printer, disconnect the USB cable and then uninstall the old Canon files / drivers /apps. Then reboot and install the new computer exactly as directed by the instructions. If your previous printer was set up for WiFi only then you may need to reinstall from scratch.

PS - You will not hurt the printer even if your operating system were incompatible with the printer's drivers.

Tried the old info but would not recognize the printer. Did download the parts of the new disk that I wanted and It took two windows shut downs but the printer is now working. So glad you answered quick and helped me. Made my day. So much to learn even if I have been computing for several years. Thanks again LEE The oldtimer.
