My a printer tech, owner of laguna service inc. I service Epson Large format painters and other inkjets and laser printers.
I have a problem with a Canon pro-1 its giving me a 26 blink error there is no movement or post goes right into error. The purge unit was stuck and not going into home position I moved it into position but still get same error.

Hi @Joe Cettina, the description on your error problem is not good news, did you by any chance while you were probing around handling the purge unit, disturb or remove any of the wiring contacts on many circuit boards inside.

The Pro 1 is fitted with a live EPROM and if power to this chip is interrupted then it’s game over, there is a battery back up in the left ink door that feeds power to the chip when and if the power plug is removed..

When working on this printer it is vital to keep the power plug connected to the wall socket to help prevent a power outage from happening, because without power the internal Memory chip dies and will need reprograming at a Canon Service centre..

The 26 Flashing lights is an RTC 6700 fatal error, that can only be rectified by a Dealer, I’m sorry for the bad news..

The Purge unit was jammed I removed the covers and Ink door and disconnected the wires. when I put thing back together I got this error.
Thanks for you help with this. This Is another reason I do not like working on canon products. I was an authorized servicer for them about 10 years ago
thanks Again
