I have a similar problem, and I can't find the service manual anywhere in the internet . . . do you have any visual aids for me to follow? Thank you in advance

Hi @isabel albiol, yes we can help, but first why would you want to remove the top cover...?
What's the problem..
The printhead carriage is stuck / locked inside the printer. When I plug the printer and turn it on, it doesn't start as usual, instead it just flashes error B200. I believe it's just telling me that there is something wrong with the printhead. In order to change the printhead (luckily we have a new one in stock!), I need to be able to unlock the carriage. I have been able to take off the cover sides, but I need some advice on how to continue accessing the carriage. Any advice / instruction it will be highly appreciated.

@isabel albiol, now there is some good news and some bad news.
I can help with the release of the print head from its parking station (Purge pads) and maybe that might cure the B200 error warning.

But you can’t change the print head if you have any fatal warnings, the printer won’t allow it, but if your mechanically minded then it is possible if your willing to take the chance, but first see another post regarding a similar problem to yours..

Thank you . . . I was going to chance it and try the repair myself, but today the other PIXMA PRO-1 has also suddely stopped working and started flashing the same B200 error!! and I only have 1 spare printhead.

Both printers where taking to the Canon Repair centre last August to empty the ink internal maintenance tanks. I'm very suspicious that both machines are breaking down at the same time! Do you think is just a coincidence?

@isabel albiol, A B200 error can pop up at any time, but if both your machines were only serviced August last then the Service Centre didn’t do a very good job, you should have gotten back practically new printers, because that what a service is for..

You now have the information you need to fix the problem yourself, so why not, because you can probably do a better job than you had done with the last service, you don’t necessarily need a new head yet, and you won’t know that till you clear the error message.

Did you do by any chance do any nozzle checks before the error message appeared...?

I know, right?! . . . so I have managed to take the top cover off the printer following the instructions you sent me. . . however I think there is a step missing, because it looks there is a part that also needs removing to access the white gear that will free the print head locking mechanism . . . any ideas?

I worked it out by myself . . . i unlock the printhead carriage and put the printer back together and the B200 message cleared.
I have done a nozzle check and it seems fine . . . fingers crossed!
