Thanks for the pdf manual stratman.
PeterBJ linked the PDF manual. But I am his older and much better looking brother from a different mother. ;)

still no positive result.
Could it be you are placing the document on the opposite side of the glass platen?

As I look at the front of my printer... If I place the document to be scanned all the way to the forward edge (towards me) of the glass platen then there is missing data on that side of the copy. I have to place he document to be scanned all the way to the rear edge (and leftward edge) to make a proper copy without cutoff data.

Scanned images always work back-to-front and upside-down, like in the old days of Letterpress...

By changing the paper format to Letter in both the copy and scan menus on a Canon MG5350, I also get a print where approximately 3/4 " or 2 cm is missing from the bottom of the print. See this:

A4-Letter.jpg

An easy way to get things back to normal is to use the proper reset of settings from the menu. See the PDF manual p170 and select "Settings only", also see pages 301 to 304 incl.

Hello Hat,

I've followed your advice and deleted the printer completely from the computer but the re-installed machine leaves a margin of between 1" - 2" at the bottom of the printed page. Meaning that a full A4 does not get completely printed (copied or written). I've tried increasing the margin on my Text Maker program on the computer but it makes no difference.

PeterBJ I've used the correct paper settings and have also experimented with other formats but I still get missing text on the re-installed printer. The only way I get the full page printed is if I reduce the scale (which affects width as well as length).

Is the paper being printed on the same size as the source paper and Paper Setting? If the paper that is being printed on is smaller then you will need to set Scale to less than 100%.

You did not respond to my earlier comment on source paper placement on the glass platen. Is the source paper placed in the proper posiion?

Hello stratman. Sorry if you thought that I'd ignored your earlier comments. I did take notice of these but the situation is no better. This morning the printing is very erratic and sometimes I was only getting half a page and the next three quarters. I've tried to factory reset as per manual but this does not work. I cannot reset. So I deleted it from the computer and reinstalled with the original disc (which automatically applied updates from the Canon website).

I have not had this type of thing with this machine before.Just recently. In the past I've printed text, copies, photos etc. with no problem. Perhaps there is a fault with the internal software.....

Your beginning to get odd outputs from both your scanner and your text application, instead of improving there getting worse..
Try setting your printer back to Default here in this section..

So I deleted it from the computer
Did you uninstall all Canon apps/drivers and then reboot before reinstalling the printer? Deletion is not necessarily the same as uninstalling and may leave unwanted remnant files or registry settings that may continue to cause issues.

This morning the printing is very erratic
Is the printer still under warranty? If so, call Canon technical support.
