An electrical malfunction in one can, rarely, cause an electrical malfunction in the other which can then be propagated to a new replacement part. For instance,

print head failure -> logic assay board failure -> new print head failure

Given what I just said, do you think it best to use a suspect malfunctioning print head in a new printer?

I would use the new print head you have socked away first till it dies and then break out these old and questionable print heads as last resort.

Storing print heads: flush and then fill with one of Pharmacist's solutions.

Ok, here is the 1st replacement head; the service print out & the Nozzle check (cropped). I would say different problems. If it was the logic board, wouldn't both heads print out more similar patterns??

I would say some different, some same, meaning increased probability of logic board assay failure.

Time to break out the new ip4300 and print head.

I think that was caused by the magenta print head killer fungus or other microbial unwanted growth.

Opposite of what you posted 2 posts above. But, to add to that, I decided to install what I thought was a 'good' head (I have swapped a total of four, so chances are that was a guess, any printouts I had got mixed up since I wasn't prepared for all of this).

Long story shore, that head has similar problems. There is a good cart (two printouts I put in the original box) in that printer, no carts, but I wasn't aware of the preservative formula until now, so it was stored dry. I was thinking of trying that in the current printer, but it sounds like it's better not to and try these three heads in that printer instead.

Sorry, do not follow.

This is starting to feel like we are chasing our tails. I recommend you break out your new IP4300 and new print head. Only try the old print heads if the new print head dies.

That, but I missed the part about using just the existing (in that printer) printhead. My bad.

Well I did break out the spare 4300 (that has a 2k page count, the current on when I bought it had 160 pages (AKA virgin) now it's around 6k, still not that many.
I tried all 3 questionable heads in the spare (no PC connection I only printed that service print page) and they all failed in one form or another. No, I didn't try the existing installed printhead on either unit.

Am I on Candid Camera?
