Hey man - You got it!!!!! To the very point!
This forum is for us - and I'll buy those damned lenses instead. I'm suffering from more than LBA ( Lens Buy Addiction) you know! And Yes have some Full Format cameras as well (früher genannt Kleinbildkamera..?.). One must have the latest ones - that is important!
He he he.....there it came!:frow

"I'm an OEM ink cheater and I admit that!" (As we say on our meetings.)

I’m an OEM ink cheater too, and never use the stuff, except for what comes in a new printer...

Yeh sad to say - on those meetings we have people all revealing all the colors! You can easily see who is an OCP:er -he looks odd magenta and too many who bought really cheap have clogged heads and are hard to understand. Windex and other anti-clogging products worsens it as it adds alcohol and ammonia to the problem. Out in life people avoid us and "say things".

Still we cannot stop - it's a disease from hell! Families getting split etc etc My passport is old and some airports do not let me cross the border because of "faked photo" and false passport! Tried to get a new one - however they told me to be cured first and asked if I needed help out!

BUT - here we are at Printerknowledge - and love and help our beloved OEM ink cheaters!
HEY FELLOW CHEATERS - LET*S ENJOY!

So far as postscript and somewhat conclusion.

No one has a real suggestion with enthusiasm for cheating OEM inks with EU ones.

We have to live with our cheap non-OEM inks. All of us. Cheap in two senses. Cheap to buy and "cheap" results.

That's it? (makes me sad! EU inks are shit-inks came to my mind...)

Ah come on - some must be happy with their EU OEM-cheating inks - or?

Only solution now is stop buying new lenses and FF-bodies and go straight to the ORIGINAL OEM.
Perhaps it wont hurt that much!

To begin with - I have a almost full set OEM carts on the shelf (for special occasions)
Have just used them to have my own ready made profiles, when needed.

By the way - You can go cheap with OEM regarding paper profiling.
I have compared the Colormunky Photo with my I1pro2.
Colormunky surprises me - the profiles compared - are really in the ballpark.
I1pro2 gives me smaller gamut profiles but I believe that is because more patches sets stricter boundaries and the sensor is more "picky".
Lets say I1pro2 is very good however Colormunky is "very usable" and worth every penny. Being a bit too generous giving bigger gamut profiles. Again not to far.
This regarding paper-profiling. In monitor profiling I1display pro is far better. Another thing.

aren't we members of the secret non-OEM ink user guild ??? But don't tell anbody..

Xrite is effectively using the same profiling software with the latest - i1Profiler version - limited in some features and parameter ranges.
Some discussion about ColorMunki profiles happened here
https://www.printerknowledge.com/th...-software-does-it-make-it-better.10449/page-4
ColorMunki and i1Profiler profiles may vary somewhat - but the question is - would you see a
difference in actual printouts ? We are most likely not doing proof prints and alike which get measured for their compliance.

To be honest - not using my instrument - even a god controlled photo of Colorchecker with background would not be that very easy for me to tell. As You often say paper and inks can make it it impossible to tell the most correct print.
That is not a bad mark for Colormunki!
However I know I scientifically should get better paper profiles with I1pro2 - that is one error less to worry about when printing. In a way - you know - when using a good lens You cannot blame the quality of the photo on the lens.
Having a cheap one - You can. Let's say I'm rather impressed.

And Yes - do not tell anyone I use OEM-X-Rite - then I might not be welcome in the OEM-cheaters-sociaty.
I'll keep your secret and You mine!

As said before - It scares me, I might be going to be a printing-snob using EPSON OEM.
I do not like snobs! So....Please help me to keep doing OEM-cheating prints.
That temptation is horrible!
When you drink a high-branded cognac and some minutes later low-branded one - then You might be caught for ever!
That is a very expensive experience in the long term.

"I, my friends here, promise I'll continue using OEM-cheating inks." (Hope that worked!)

(I'll keep my OEM-ink-carts on the shelf! They look nice and snobby for visitors.)

And let's be frank - none of my photos out there, some admired - have been criticized for not being printed with Epson OEM. Who could tell? Sometimes I'm proud my craftsmanship myself and the very result! OK - I'll stop bragging!

@ berserk, Why not put a couple of pieces of your handywork in the POW, no need for OEM there... :)

I cannot - I have no Canon or Nikon - you know,I'm just Pentaxian. (since 1972)

That would be a shock for purists to see what a Pentax could do.
Let's spare the members here - I might insult ém.:old

OK.... I´ll think about it.
