Apart from the stated mods/aps, relating to user information distribution, does anyone know what the major update was about?

It seems to have little if any benefit.

We become more "connected" which is what it is all about. We don't connect at a personal level but through the device we use. Odd because in general people are all living closer to each other now but no longer know each other except that our devices are all connected all the time. Even when couples date and families go to a restaurant to have a meal they actually text each other. Glad I'm leaving this place down the line.
Facebook and social media is an ongoing social experiment with long term consequences which are irreversible. They want people to connect through devices because that is the easiest way to collect data. Voice which is easier to use is deemphasized because it is more difficult to parse through and not easily mined.

The latest with Facebook is something that makes me LAUGH. We expect their services for "free" but we will not allow them to sell and share data they have collected? Someone is not facing reality. Same for Microsoft. After getting Win 10 for free, with a 10 year old OS in trade, and then get free updates we expect them to employ thousand upon thousands of programmers, pay them well and what do we give in exchange. Knock Knock.

The OS is constantly evolving to eventually connect you and data mine. Data about a "specific" consumer is the new currency. It is called targetting the likes we simply haven't begun to understand. Coupled with AI algorithms, will know you better than yourself. Yes, read that correctly, they will know you better than yourself.

This guy is smart and insightful. Dismiss his lackadaisal attitude it is a put on. If you watch his videos he is extremely intelligent and his knowledge has little bounds. I watch him..one of the few channels I watch on youtube. I can connect with him. Oh,,,,,, restricted viewing due to language at times.

The latest email I have received relating to GDPR is shown below. Somewhat hilarious! As far as I can remember I have never filled out a member account. Is this a new approach to getting me to provide data?:)
