How to properly store fresh refilled carts?

First set of refilled carts, I wanted to be extra cautious, so having read somewhere someone mentioned storing their Carts in an enclosed Tupperware Box on a shallow bed of Isopropryl Alcohol saturated Paper Towel - reason stated: to reduce chance of mold - I decided to follow this route.
Absolute disaster, after on a couple of days when needing to use them I opened the box to see all Silicone Caps had loosened, despite being sealed down with Tape for added precaution.

I posted a Thread regarding this.

Like Mr Hat, I had tape on the vents and there's a pool of ink in the orange clip when I take them off. I think I'm going to take those off again when I get back home...

Hey Hat, orange caps up???? Sponge outlets don't dry out... Aren't you going to get ink eventually making its way to the vent... Ive stored all different ways with all holes sealed and vent taped just like OEM carts but never found one way that was best. All seemed to develop a problem in due time. Now I store orange clip down no tape on German hole or the vent. But do store in a good zip lock bag with the DOUBLE zip strip. Most of the time no problem. I hope I wont regret posting this... Because I refill for several other people, right now I have 8 sets stored this way in individual zip lock bags.

I don’t do anything special with my old dye cartridges and leave them in a wooden tray sometime for years, they are there when I need them.

On the other hand, newly filled pigment cartridges are stored upside down, while the next sets to be used are all right side up, its a handy way of keeping track on them...

Yes it is, and I would have made one for the dye carts too, but there’re so old its not worth it, beside the wood tray is more than adequate, and if I ever make a toilet roll holder, I'll send it to you...
Can’t risk your bog paper getting wet on the floor...

I knocked a roll into the toilet the other day. I'll mail it to you, hermetically sealed, to make sure you have the proper dimensions for the holder.

I'd stick that bog roll on ebay if I were you stratman, somebody would buy it. I bet The Hat would put a bid in for sure.

Hi, just wondering how long will last a stored cartridge. After getting mad trying to refill carts on my Epson XP-810, I have resumed the repair job on my Canon MP-610 with broken glass (https://www.printerknowledge.com/threads/mp610-broken-scanner-glass-how-to-change-it.9500/).

It is unused since 2015, so what should I do with its cartridges? Could they be still in working condition or is mandatory to flush them and refill again?

And also, cleaning the head would be advisable before using again the printer or a nozzle check could be enough?
