I can only add regarding the Pro-100. For heavy card stock is see some difficulty, because there is no true "rear" tray, as in "straight through", like my i9900 had. However I have printed much on photo quality paper without difficulty, or without any paper crinkle of envelopes.

If you are planning on folding your own sleeves, I see the cracking from folding more of an issue. However, and this is a BIG one for me. The paper handling is what I love about the Pro-100. Canon simply has this function hands down. Regardless of paper or weight, it is always snappy, always straight, and I do not remember ever of a double feed. The tray is easy to load, and when you have to abort a print job, it is click and the printer stops at that point and ejects the job. Now that is nice. No assumption, like a lot of lasers, that you "probably want" the rest of the page printed, or heaven forbid like my old Lexmark, that actually forced the job to the last page before it quit. I actually had to resort to a power down on large jobs. argch!

The other issue is printing on the CD. The Pro-100 does a very nice job, however it's not the fastest. It would be worth your testing (quality is no issue), but try low density areas to make sure that the speed per CD is not a disappointment for you. Of course the fact that you don't have to fiddle with stick on labels may make up for that, as well as considering that labels seem to be expensive, and a source of trouble if not centered perfectly.

You are wondering why sleeves are not as available as once, and/or expensive. I suppose that is because of lower demand. "Way" less people play CDs anymore. It's all about downloading from iTunes, another argch!, but admittedly easier for mobile listening.

Good luck with your project, or should I say projects.

@lesvisible

but also coffee/beer/tear resistance, abrasion resistance, and smudge resistance.
When it comes to physical attack you will want to consider what kind of media. On open pore media like plain papers and matte type papers, pigments are protected because it seeps into the pores. On coated media, one needs to check carefully because if the ink sits on top of the paper issues like adherence and related abrasion resistance needs to be tested. Pigment depending on the coating on the media might act as a physical layer.

Now if you're going to use OEM ink in the Pro-10 you might want to test for Dom Perignon resistance as well.

May I provide an update to my above statement about Epson bottled inks for their inktank printers, Epson released a new printer model - ET 7700/7750 for A4/A3 in their Ecotank series. The ink for this printer - Epson 106 in Europe - seems to be identical or pretty close to the performance of the genuine Claria dye inks in terms of fading - these inks are better than other bottled inks for various L-xxx and ET-xxxx models so far. I would like to thank ink stained fingers for all the effort he puts into these tests it's really invaluable for us who refill.
I just hope that in time canon will produce a refill ink that is the same quality as their cartridges.

Seems everyone is in a sarcastic mood judging by the last two posts but I would have thought the point I was trying to make was pretty obvious. lsf had posted that the Epson bottled ink for their et7750 was good as their claira ink.
All I was saying that I hoped that one day the ink for canon megatank system would be as good as has their original ink !!!!!

I was not trying to mock you but instead Canon and their business model.

Also, I thought mikling was empathizing with you. :idunno

Leaving all the jovial sarcasm a side, let’s not forget all the fantastic work that @Ink stained Fingers puts into his ink fade tests, a big thank you from me too...;)

I like to thank everybody for the positive recognition of my fading tests, I didn't expect that this subject ever would get that complex - with so many variables when I started looking into that about a year or two ago. This year is fading as well into the last day now , I wish everybody the best for next year - and always enough refill ink in the bottles and no air bubbles in the nozzles.....
